KHIZR KHAN (1414 AD- 1421 AD)
- Khizr Khan is Malik Sulaiman (28th May 1414 till 20th May 1421)
- Founder of SAYYID DYNASTY
- Rolling Dynasty of the DELHI SULTANATE, in Northern India soon after the invasion of TAIMUR and the fall of TUGHLAQ DYNASTY
- KHIZIR KHAN was the GOVERNER of MULTAN under FIROZ SHAH TUGHLAQ
- When TAIMUR invaded India, KHIZIR KHAN ( a sayyid from MULTAN ) joined him
- TAIMUR appointed him the GOVERNOR of MULTAN and LAHORE
- He then conquered DELHI and started the rules of SAYYIDS in 1414 in the name of TAIMUR
MUHAMMAD SHAH
- KHIZIR KHAN was succeeded by his nephew MUHAMMAD SHAH
- MUHAMMAD SHAH was a very weak ruler
- The real authority of the Sultan extended merely 40 miles around Delhi
- During his reign, disorder and mismanagement prevailed
- Later on during the reign of MUHAMMAD SHAH, BAHLOL LODI tried to capture Delhi but he failed
MUBARAK SHAH
- He claimed to be the DESCENDANT OF THE PROPHET
- The seven years of his reign were spent in suppressing revolts in various part of India
- MUBARAK SHAH was the son of KHIZIR KHAN. He came to the throne in 1421
- He was a man of great vision, but the nobles were against him and kept revolting
- MUBARAK SHAH builds a city on the bank of river JAMUNA and named it MUBARAKBAD. He was assassinated in a pot.
ALAM SHAH
- ALAM SHAH was a pleasure-loving, incompetent and weak king
- He used to reside at BADAUN
- According to some historians, He transfers his capital DELHI to BADAUN on account of fear of BAHLOL LODI, governor of LAHORE and Sir-hind
- Taking advantage of his absence from Delhi, BAHLOL LODI occupied DELHI in 1451, ALAM SHAH continued to live at BADAUN till his death in 1748.
